After 23 years, Pac-Man World is back in the spotlight with a remastered version of the original PlayStation classic, supplemented with improved graphics and a number of new features.
Pac-Man World RE-PAC – Nitro Rad
This remaster, called Pac-Man World Re-Pac, repackages (see what they did?) the 1999 game for modern platforms. But don't expect a game that remotely resembles the arcade classic: while Pac-Man, Pac-Dots, and ghosts are present, this is more in line with later Super Mario games.
Pac-Man must run, jump, and otherwise navigate his way through multiple themed areas and levels filled with puzzles, items, and boss battles. Definitely not like navigating the maze of old, except it is, because there is a 3D Maze Mode available. And if you complete the game’s campaign, you’ll also unlock the arcade original.
"Graphic updates were one of the main themes of Re-Pac," Bandai Namco producer Yuji Yoshii said in the interview with Xbox Game Studios. "We made adjustments to create a more modern Pac-Man design, while still maintaining the comic book style of the Pac-Man universe."
