Palworld has already confirmed that a huge update is coming to the world this summer, but today we got our first look at what's in that release, including more Pals and a whole new island to explore.
HUGE new mega update for Palworld — New friends, islands, raids and more
First shown off at the ID@Xbox showcase on April 29, the new Palworld island appears to be roughly themed around Japan in the springtime, with cherry blossom trees covering certain areas in their petals and Pals matching the tone. From shrines to torii gates, it looks like there'll be plenty to explore when this summer update arrives in the coming months.
As for the new Pals, we saw a frog wearing classic samurai garb and practicing swordplay with a stick, a fancifully dressed bird, what looked like a cross between Dinosom and a mushroom, and another mystical fox-like creature. We weren’t given names or other information for these Pals, nor any additional context for what else is being added, though we do know the general outline of what’s to come.
According to previous roadmap updates from Pocketpair, the Summer Update will feature "never-before-seen landscapes and exciting adventures across a new island, home to many new Pals", which is largely what we saw in this teaser. Additionally, we know that more buildings, weapons, features, and potential bosses will be added. Unfortunately for Palworld fans, the PvP Arena isn't one of those new features, as Pocketpair incorrectly announced that the new battle mode would be part of the Summer Update, before backtracking and scheduling it for a general release in 2024, meaning it's launching later this year.
