This is a simple example and in games like Pokemon it is very complex as there are over 18 types and even dual types. Since Palworld takes inspiration from it, one of the other mechanics that it shares with Pokemon is the elemental type system. So if you are unsure of the strengths or weaknesses of each element, this is the type chart that you can refer to.

Here are the type tables that show when a Pal is strong or weak against a particular element.

You can have a maximum of 5 Pals in your party at a time. Therefore, it is important that the five you bring cover you for the weaknesses of enemy Pals. If your Pal has the element that your opponent is weak to, you will have an advantage because you can do more damage.

Fire is the strongest type in terms of attack, as it is strong against both Grass and Ice. Meanwhile, Neutral is the worst, as it is weak against Dark, but not particularly strong against any type.
