Google has unveiled a new feature for its Pixel 9 smartphone that allows users to copy data from another device even after the initial setup process. The functionality, spotted by Android Authority, marks a significant change from previous Pixel models.
Restore data on your Pixel phone from a cloud backup
The new option, called 'Back up or copy data', can be found in the device settings. It includes a 'copy data' page that allows users to transfer information from another smartphone at any time.
This new feature allows you to continue the restore process if the original process was interrupted for some reason. In addition, you can also 'sync' data between devices, which allows you to copy both old and newly installed apps on your old phone. The data on the old device will be merged with the new one.
It is important to note that some data may not be transferred automatically. This includes downloads such as PDF files, content from hidden folders, and apps that do not come from the Google Play Store.
