Twitter just added a new feature to its web app that could help us all put some distance between ourselves and angry comments. You can now schedule tweets on the social media platform for a specific date and time.

How to Schedule Tweets and Threads on Twitter (Easy Tutorial)

Here’s how it works: Simply click the little calendar icon (next to the various additional Twitter icons at the bottom left of the message field), compose your tweet, then choose a day, date, and time zone to post it. Click the Confirm button, then the Schedule button (where the regular Send button would normally be). The tweet will wait to be scheduled to go out.

How it helps: While the feature is ostensibly intended for people and businesses to build a social media strategy and avoid third-party solutions like TweetDeck, Buffer, or Hootsuite, in reality, scheduling tweets can help us all catch our breath between an angry comment and actually sending it.

What's more: Scheduled Tweets live in the new Unsent Tweets area, which also includes Tweets that you can now save as drafts. Both features should be available to all users starting today.
