Tired of seeing pending installs because you already have an app installed? Thanks to a recent update, you can now download and install two apps side by side in the Play Store. While this would hardly be a talking point for iOS users who can already do this with three apps at once, it’s only now that Android has gained support for merging two apps from the Play Store.
Play Store New Update | Download Multiple Apps Simultaneously | Play Store
So from now on, you can tap Install on two apps and watch them download together from the Play Store and your home screen.
If you want to install more apps, they will remain on hold until one of the two apps is installed.
Please note that this update only applies to installing apps, not updating apps. Manually updating apps from the Play Store will still happen on a per-app basis. The feature is rolling out broadly and isn’t just limited to Pixel phones and tablets. We found it working on Play Store version 40.7.26.
