PlayStation 4 Pro Review: The First 4K Gaming Console?
The PlayStation 4 has been a massive success for Sony, having sold nearly 100 million units since its release in 2013. That makes it the current king of the console generation, with more players than both the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Given its age, it’s no surprise that the console was due for a refresh, and Sony delivered just that with the PS4 Pro in 2016. The PS4 Pro packs a serious punch over the previous PS4 model, with 4K graphics and HDR support thanks to the increased power under the hood.

In terms of design, the PS4 Pro borrows much of its overall look from the older PS4 model. It has a similar flattened parallelogram shape and the same matte black textured plastic (sans any glossy accents). Initially, some joked that the Pro looked like two PS4s simply stacked on top of each other. As it turns out, that’s actually a pretty accurate description.
