According to The Pokémon Company’s business listings, more than 480 million Pokémon-related video games have been sold as of March 2024. During that same period, the company and its partners have printed more than 64.8 billion Pokémon TCG cards. For both categories, that’s an increase of 10 million units and 11.9 billion cards, respectively, compared to the March 2023 totals.
That’s a huge increase for any department, but even more staggering is the fact that with 11.9 billion Pokémon cards printed in the past year, it represents 18 percent of all official TCG printings in total. It speaks to the continued success of the Pokémon TCG and TPC’s continued commitment to keeping product in stock to combat shortages, scalpers, and resellers.
Other companies are also benefiting from the growth of the Pokémon TCG, as GameStop recently announced that it is betting big on Pokémon with a new business plan , and eBay continues to have huge success in the Pokémon card market. The latter also just inked a new deal with PSA that will "streamline" sales, grading, and more for card collectors.
