Have you ever stuck a PopSocket on the back of your phone? No, because that stuff is for teenagers, right? But it turns out that this is the one time in history that teenagers might have actually done something right.
A PopSocket is perhaps the best accessory you can buy for your phone. It’s a grip, a cable tie, a stand, and more. I’ve long been curious about PopSockets, but until I stuck one on the back of my iPhone 12 Mini, I didn’t realize how good they could be.
A PopSocket is a collapsible plastic mushroom that sticks to the back of your phone and can be unfolded with a fingertip. When collapsed, it’s small enough that you can still fit your phone in a tight pocket. When expanded, it can be anything. But let’s be honest. Its primary function is as a fidget toy.
You can twist it, pop it, open it so one side is in and the other side is out, and then keep fiddling with it. In terms of gadgets that aren’t really designed as fidget toys, the PopSocket is about as good as opening and closing the flip-top of an AirPods case.
