16 Toys That Will Take Your PC to the Next Level
🚗 How to use Microsoft PowerToys
Besides having the coolest name for system utilities ever, PowerToys have a long history with Windows. PowerToys for Windows made their debut in Windows 95 to help optimize and customize your Windows operating system (OS).
Back in the day, these features were high-tech wizardry. Maybe you used TweakUI to help you customize the Windows XP interface, or FlexiCD to let you play a music CD from the taskbar. Now, the traditional PowerToys of the 1990s are pretty much built into Windows or easily added via various apps.
However, Microsoft has revived PowerToys for Windows 10. They have also embraced their new open-source stance and are making the most of their acquisition of GitHub. Because it is open-source, you can add your own functionality to PowerToys. More likely, there will be developers who add new features that Microsoft may never have thought of.
