Most online services, including search engines, put too much control in the hands of a single company. This is one of the problems that Web3 alternatives attempt to address.
I found a BETTER WAY to use Google Ads keywords
Presearch, which has just exited testing, is one such option that aims to end the monopoly of traditional search engines by putting humans in charge. The decentralized network replaces corporate-controlled supercomputers with a network of thousands of user-controlled nodes working together. The goal? To give you the same meaningful results for your searches, but without the privacy and monopoly concerns that come with traditional search engines like Google.
"Through decentralized search, we're creating a way for everyone online to benefit from and contribute to the search engine they're using," Colin Pape, founder of Presearch, told Lifewire in an email thread. "Decentralization allows the user to not only benefit from the Web in meaningful ways, but also to have a sense of ownership over their experience."
Presearch launched in 2020, and while it’s fully functional, it’s been in a testing phase since then. After the European Commission fined Google €4.3 billion for abusing Android to increase its search engine market share, the company added the ability for people in Europe to replace the default search option with one of several others, including Presearch.
