The original Red Dead Redemption is still beloved by many fans, but not everyone has had the chance to experience the game in all its glory.
RDR 1 Might Get an Official PC Port #rdr2
PC gamers have been eagerly awaiting a potential port of Rockstar’s western action game for years, especially since Red Dead Redemption 2 enjoyed a fruitful life on Steam and the Epic Games Store. Even Nintendo Switch owners have gotten to experience John Marston’s epic adventure. Rumors of a PC port first started swirling earlier this year when internal files suggested the game would be coming to the platform, but not much has been revealed since. Now, an accidental post on the PlayStation Store has caused a stir and reignited those rumors.
As reported by PC Gamer, observant gamers noticed that the information page for the PlayStation 4 version of Red Dead Redemption on the PlayStation Store noted that it was "coming to PC for the first time." Additionally, the description also included a series of "PC-specific announcements" that included support for higher framerates and surround sound. The Red Dead Redemption store page currently contains none of this, but that didn't stop screenshots from the previous info page from making the rounds on X/Twitter.
Ironically, another leak for a potential PC port of Red Dead Redemption came from the PlayStation Store. It will be interesting to see how Rockstar responds to these rumors. They could choose to ignore them altogether, or they could do what they did when the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer leaked and confirm the information themselves (while potentially taking action against whoever made the mistake behind the scenes).
