Sources tell us that these negotiations are in the early stages and that nothing has been finalized at this time. The news follows Deadline's exclusive earlier in July, which revealed that Raimi had come aboard the project despite not being officially approved by the studio.
Billed as a two-star horror thriller set on an island, the story is situated somewhere between Rob Reiner's Stephen King adaptation Misery and Robert Zemeckis' classic Castaway. Send Help is based on an original script from Baywatch writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Zainab Azizi will also produce under the Raimi Productions banner, and the film is expected to hit theaters.
Disney did not respond to requests for comment.
