The first Ratchet And Clank was awesome!!!
Remastered video games have become extremely popular in recent years, as publishers scour their libraries for older favorites to modernize and re-release today. Some of these games are simply cranked up to a higher, sharper resolution to appear less jagged or blurry, while others retain the core design of the game and deliver completely rebuilt graphics.
Ratchet & Clank, however, is a little different. It keeps the name and much of what was great about Insomniac Games' classic 2002 PlayStation 2 original, like the colorful worlds and wacky, outlandish weapon design, but is essentially a new adventure inspired by that game rather than a slavish recreation. Fans might remember familiar moments, but everything has been given a gorgeous new coat of paint, along with some modern tweaks. It's also been streamlined, making this kid-friendly PlayStation 4 actioner an ideal starting point for anyone.
Ratchet and Clank are the game's two heroes: the former, a furry "lombax" creature, is a mechanic who wields a giant wrench and dreams of becoming a Galactic Ranger. Clank, on the other hand, is a clever robot who discovers plans by the evil Chairman Alonzo Drek to destroy planets in order to harvest their resources and create a new one for his own race. Clank manages to escape from Drek and accidentally meets Ratchet after crash-landing on the planet Veldin, and the two team up to try and stop Drek's evil plan.
