Destiny 2 introduced a new bounty system called Pathfinder in The Final Shape expansion. When it was first announced, Pathfinder had several goals to accomplish, including giving players more choice when selecting objectives and encouraging objectives outside of players' comfort zones.
THIS EXOTIC IS FINALLY GOOD AGAIN AFTER A YEAR OF BADNESS! (Duality Buff)
Unfortunately, the way Pathfinder is trying to achieve these goals doesn't seem to be working. "More often than not, when I want the engram, I'm forced into activities that I don't want to waste my free time on. I don't get that time back, I'd rather spend it on something I actually enjoy playing," one Destiny 2 player wrote in a Reddit thread on June 9.
The Pathfinder for ritual playlists (Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit) gives you a set of objectives to complete, with all three activities. It can be anything from completing Vanguard Ops to killing enemies in Gambit with a specific weapon.
To reach the final reward, you’ll need to work your way through these objectives, which often means playing a game mode you don’t like. You could technically bypass the objectives you don’t like, but that adds to the hassle, especially if you’re aiming for the Path completion reward.
