Nowadays, it’s pretty hard to lose data with ubiquitous cloud storage and extra reliable storage media. Sometimes, though, things can go terribly wrong. Maybe it’s a ransomware attack or an intentional deletion by an angry family member.

This is called Volume Shadow Copy and it acts as an automated backup solution that automatically saves copies of files in the background.
