Including those with different names but the same information

I love my iPhone and I love iCloud too, but what I hate is that I have a lot of duplicate contacts! Why is that? Well, it's because I use the same iCloud account on multiple iPhones and iPads. All the contacts from my wife's iPhone and my sister's iPhone were merged into one giant list and there were a lot of duplicate contacts.

The other annoying thing was that the duplicates were slightly different. For example, I had a contact named Vineet and then another named Vineet R and yet another named Vineet Rohatgi! One had a number, one had an email address and the last one had an address. So not exact duplicates, but still the same contact details.

In this article, I will discuss a few ways to solve the problem of duplicate contacts and how to merge them. As for solutions, I found many where you could remove exact duplicates, but it took me a bit longer to find a way to merge contacts that may have different names but identical phone numbers or email addresses.
