How to Remove Text Under Desktop Icons on Laptops Without Numpad (Windows 10)
If you want to simplify the display of icons on your Windows 7/8/10 desktop, you can 'remove' the labels from the desktop icons.
Before I show you how to remove the labels from your desktop icons, you should know that there are two types of desktop icons. There are the standard shortcut icons that you can create for programs that you install, and there are desktop icons that you can place on your desktop for common functions like Computer and Recycle Bin. You can tell that an icon is a shortcut if there is an arrow in the bottom left corner of the icon, as shown below.
The method to remove the text from each type of icon is different.
