Playing video games with all sorts of improbable objects has been common for a while now. Popularized by the Souls franchise, the practice continues to evolve. Now, a CS2 fan has solved the ultimate puzzle: how to play the game with a Rubik's Cube.

Magisk is a strong and independent gamer 💪

A CS2 YouTuber by the aptly named The Unlimited Guy shared a video of himself playing CS2 with a Rubik's Cube on June 15th. The player rotates the cube in all sorts of ways to move and shoot, even managing to rack up quite a few kills in the game's Deathmatch mode. While it's unclear exactly what he was doing to the cube to make it all work, it appears that movement is tied to buttons the player has mounted on it, while shooting is performed by rotating the appropriate segment.

This isn’t the first game The Unlimited Guy has played with a Rubik’s Cube. That same day, on June 15th, the YouTuber uploaded himself playing Fortnite with the same controller, even going a bit more in-depth on how he built it. The video is fairly short, like the previous one, but the genius YouTuber is also finding success in Epic Games’ flagship title. While he doesn’t perform quite as well as he did in CS2’s Deathmatch, he still manages to score a few kills, even if it takes a lot of maneuvering and fiddling with the cube itself.

From playing Elden Ring with bananas to playing Call of Duty with a recorder, playing video games with random stuff you find around the house seems to hold quite a bit of appeal for some people. As the practice continues to evolve, there’s no telling what tech-savvy gamers will come up with next.
