If you’ve been using Fuse in Apex Legends games to exploit the interaction between his ultimate and Evac Towers, it’s time to find another legend combo. Respawn has released a hotfix today to eliminate the exploit.

WHO at Respawn was actually okay with that? – Apex Legends

Fuse has always been a bit of a niche character, generally seen as a friendly legend for Apex newcomers and lower-ranked players. After all, he gets a free damage output with his Knuckle Cluster tactic, his ultimate is easy to pick up when a large ring of fire falls from the sky, and he gets to carry a ton of grenades thanks to his passive. Weapon proficiency? Try eating six Arc Stars in a row instead. But the Evac Tower exploit helped put him into thin air within the ALGS community, as targeting an Evac Tower with his ultimate would cause the Motherlode to become a much, much larger ring than it should have been. Yes, those flames became disconnected and easier to avoid, so players didn’t have to worry about the ultimate’s damage or slowdown, but there was a bigger problem: the ultimate effectively gave Fuse’s team wallhacks in a huge area.

Scanning players caught in the Motherlode ring was a buff to Fuse's ultimate that has been in the game for years, and in fact this Evac Tower exploit has been around for at least a year as well. But pro complaints about the exploit started to surface during last Split when Fuse's pick rate started to increase in the pro ranks.

In Split Two of the North American ALGS Pro League, Fuse enjoyed a pick rate of 23.78 percent, according to Apex Legends Status. That was the fifth-highest rate of any character picked over the course of those match days. Furthermore, this impressive increase for Fuse comes after ALGS organizers implemented the POI draft system, effectively eliminating off-drop play, which had previously been the primary reason most teams used Fuse.
