If you’re like me and think that everything has to be a power tool, you’ve probably considered using a rotary tool to wash dishes or scrub the sink. But most tools with a spinning head, like sanders and polishers, aren’t designed for washing dishes and often aren’t the right size. Luckily, there’s a power tool specifically designed for kitchen cleaning that comes with a number of handy attachments.

USEFUL TOOL OR WASTE OF MONEY? | Dremel Versa Tool available at COSTCO

The Dremel Versa Power Scrubber Kit can scrub sinks, stovetops, countertops, and just about any kitchen surface. It comes with a variety of Scrub Daddy cleaning pads that attach to the rotating surface with velcro, similar to the way sandpaper attaches to a palm sander. The cleaning pads range from a light abrasive polishing pad to a heavy-duty scouring pad that’s great for pots and pans. The tool also has a rubber splash guard that runs over the scrubbing surface.

One of the biggest innovations of this Dremel is that it is cordless and waterproof. It is designed to be used in the sink, so getting it wet is not a problem. You can charge it with the included micro USB cable, or you can choose a longer cord (the one included is quite short). The set comes with five scouring pads that can be easily swapped out. The rubber splash guard can be detached for easy cleaning and access to the scouring pad when not in use.

The scrubbing tool is definitely faster for cleaning pots and pans, especially ones with burnt food on them (like mine often does). It can also be easier on your wrists and fingers for cleaning a glass stovetop; it’s easy to hold and doesn’t require as much pressure as a sponge. You can use less soap with the rotating scrubber. And it’s just more fun to use than a regular old sponge.
