While the festivities for Faker’s induction have yet to officially begin, the selection of the industry experts who will form the next League judging panel is already underway. “We are choosing our next 50 panelists for the 2024 Hall of Legends voting process right now,” Riot Games told Dot Esports, adding that the formal voting process should begin “soon.” These panelists will form the final group that will then decide on the Hall of Legends inductees after regional experts have listed 20 players to choose from.
But that statement doesn’t necessarily imply that Riot has a list of nominees yet. Rather, it confirms that Riot has begun the process of selecting the panel that will ultimately decide on the next inductee — a decision that has already sparked conversation within the League esports community.
While Faker was the first pro inducted, it came as no surprise that the second pro to enter the Hall of Legends was a tough one to choose, as fans all had a favorite name to put forward. Chosen for his unparalleled achievements and influence, Faker was inducted because he perfectly fit the criteria for the honorable achievement, thanks to his four World Championship titles, 10 LCK trophies, and his contributions on and off the Rift.
