Riot’s wildly popular tactical shooter will debut on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 consoles when it enters limited beta testing on June 14. Initially, the VALORANT console beta test will be limited to players in the US, Canada, UK, Europe, and Japan. Players can sign up over on the official VALORANT beta testing website.
In a press release ahead of the announcement, VALORANT Director of Production Arnar Gylfason and the game's new Executive Producer Andy Ho emphasized Riot's commitment to delivering "the same uncompromising competitive experience" that's offered on PC.
They also confirmed that cross-play will not be available between PC and consoles in order to preserve the “competitive integrity” of VALORANT. Additionally, in order to preserve the core competitive principles of the game, Riot has created a new feature called Focus to compensate for the less-than-precise hip fire of controllers.
