In an interview with Dot Esports, production director Arnar Gylfason explained that this is to ensure players can compete on their “own level playing field” and that Riot delivers a gaming experience that “feels right.”
This means that VALORANT players on PS5 will only be able to play with players on PlayStation and Xbox Series X|S and vice versa, while PC players will not be able to play with players on console at all.
Gylfason also confirmed to Dot Esports that this means players competing on different platforms will have separate leaderboards and MMRs.
