To provide Game Changers players with more opportunities to reach higher levels in the VALORANT Champions Tour ecosystem, Riot Games has unveiled a series of new policies aimed at making it easier for GC players to reach Challengers and the international competitions.

These new Riot policy changes include a more direct path for the top VALORANT Game Changers teams to qualify for their region’s Challengers circuit. Teams that qualify for the Game Changers Championship, the annual world championship for Game Changers, will automatically receive an invite to their region’s Challengers qualifier. This year’s Game Changers Championship is even expanding from eight to 10 teams, with two additional teams receiving an invite to their region’s Challengers qualifier.
Another key takeaway from this new policy is that Game Changers players will be able to compete in both Game Changers events and Premier/Challengers qualifiers without having to choose between the two. This was an issue that was raised earlier this year by several Game Changers pros, such as Melanie “meL” Capone of Shopify Rebellion. Game Changers players will be able to gain entry into the Premier Invite division if they meet certain criteria, and they will also be able to earn byes to Premier regular season matches if there is a scheduling conflict with a Game Changers event.
For Challengers or international league-ready players, those who participate in Game Changers are considered "universal", meaning they can play in any region or territory without being considered an import. Game Changers players can also be signed to Challengers or VCT teams outside of normal transfer windows.
