Riot Games has publicly responded to the backlash against its own anti-cheat program, Vanguard. Today, the company reported that only 0.03 percent of League of Legends players have actually reported issues.
Is Riot Games Actually Spying on Your Computer?
Following a massive outcry within the League community in the hours after the kernel-level Vanguard program went live, the developers took steps to address concerns, sharing a lengthy response on the League subreddit on May 2. In the response, Riot suggested that most of the preliminary issues were related to "common error codes" or driver incompatibilities rather than anything more serious.
Notably, the developers stated emphatically that they have not yet found “any confirmed cases of Vanguard blocking anyone’s hardware” – a direct refutation of most of the claims circulating on social media since yesterday.
There were some "confusing" BIOS issues that emerged, Riot added, but they mainly involved switching UEFI modes and SecureBoot settings.
