Roblox is focused on supporting high-performance, 100-player games even on lower-end devices. At its 2024 Roblox Developer Conference (RDC), the company shared plans to optimize performance on the platform so that experiences like battle royales, sports games, and open-world adventures can run smoothly on devices with as little as 2GB of RAM.

“We’re going to make it possible for a developer to host a high-performance, 100-player open world, sports or battle royale-style game on Roblox and have it run at good framerates on 2GB RAM devices anywhere in the world. We won’t stop until this is possible,” announced David Baszucki, Founder and CEO.
This focus on performance follows significant improvements made earlier this year. Roblox has refined its platform by reducing app launch times, increasing streaming adoption, and reducing crashes, particularly on Windows. According to Baszucki, there has been a 64% reduction in crash rates across all devices.
To continue their efforts, Roblox unveiled Harmony at RDC2024. Harmony optimizes the way the platform handles everything from CPU and GPU usage to RAM and bandwidth, on both the client and server side. It's designed to ensure that players on all types of devices have the best possible experience.
