If you enjoy card games, dark fantasy, tactical experiences, and getting killed repeatedly, then Roguebook is the perfect combination of your interests.
How cool is Roguebook?
New to Steam this week, Roguebook is a deckbuilding roguelike from Richard Garfield, the creator of Magic: The Gathering, and Belgian indie studio Abrakam, best known for the 2017 card game Faeria.
I always put hundreds of hours into these types of games, mainly because they’re easy to pick up and play for short periods of time, but they also reward cleverness, strategy, and quick thinking. Roguebook is fast, deep, and addictive, but compared to other recent deckbuilders like Slay the Spire, it has a major mechanical problem that needs some explaining.
The title character Roguebook is a magical prison, where several adventurers and a helpful merchant are trapped within the pages of an empty book.
