The latest update for iRobot's Roomba i3 and i3+ robot vacuums adds Siri voice assistance, as well as a number of other features.
iRobot Roomba Latest Update – Genius 4.0 – Smart Mapping on i3/i4, Do Not Disturb, Locked Out, Siri
With the iRobot Genius 4.0 update, you can use Siri on your iOS device to tell your Roomba to start cleaning, from specific rooms to the entire house. You can also set up custom phrases and commands for different situations.
In addition to Siri support, Smart Mapping has been expanded, allowing you to create your own custom maps and send your Roomba to specific rooms. You can also customize cleaning preferences for each room, in case some spots need a second pass or an extra spritz of cleaning solution. Plus, it can track cleaning times, making it easier to create a cleaning schedule that fits your life.
A Child & Pet Lock feature is also being added, which allows you to disable the Clean button on the device to prevent accidental starts due to accidental presses. Similarly, Do Not Disturb lets you schedule specific times when you don’t want your Roomba to clean, such as during meetings, when you’re trying to sleep, and so on.
