What is Nayms – Brian Rose & Dan Roberts
Rose was Managing Editor of The Social Media Monthly, the world's first print magazine dedicated to the social media revolution, from 2011 to 2014. During her time at that publication, she also wrote insider stories on a wide range of leading technology trends that were not well understood at the time, including augmented reality, crowdfunding, sports and social media, the 2012 Obama campaign, and music streaming services such as Spotify and Pandora.
As the former IT Director of a major international human rights organization, Rose believes strongly that technology should work for people, not the other way around. That’s why technology only shines when people feel empowered by it, not intimidated. She continues to maintain a connection with the nonprofit sector by teaching a course on nonprofit technology project planning and recruiting for the Nonprofit Technology Enterprise Network.
Rose graduated from Oberlin College in 1998 with a major in English literature and a minor in computer science. She has long considered herself a hybrid technologist-writer.
