How to install your VirtualBox VM to an external drive
Are you running out of hard drive space because of the virtual machines you created to run other operating systems? There is a solution that doesn’t require you to increase your internal hard drive space.
Previously we have written about How to Install Ubuntu in VirtualBox. Now we have discovered that VirtualBox is available in a portable version that you can install on a USB stick. Download Portable-VirtualBox from vbox.me. The file is a self-extracting .zip file.
Run the executable file you downloaded and extract the contents of the file to your external USB drive.
