Samsung has been releasing high-quality SSDs for quite some time now, and the 860 EVO is simply one of the best in terms of value and speed. If you’re in the market for one right now, read our review below to see if it’s the right choice for you. There are currently a few variations of this SSD, but we specifically tested the 2.5-inch, 1TB version, though all three variants returned roughly the same results.
Most hard drives and SSDs aren’t designed with visual appeal in mind, since they’re likely to be tucked away inside your computer and out of sight. The Samsung SSDs, however, are quite sleek and well-designed.
The 2.5" version of this drive is made of a clean, black brushed metal with a logo on the front and an indicator for where the interface is located. On the other side, there is some additional information about the SSD via a large sticker. Since this is a 2.5" SATA 3 style drive, you'll also notice the SATA interface that connects to your motherboard here.
