Official Android 10 update for Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus
Since both the Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus updates have the same build number (they only change with their respective model numbers), we're only using the last four letters as the software version in the "update timeline" table below. FYI, the Galaxy S9 Plus comes with model number SM-G965, while the standard Galaxy S9 comes with model number SM-G960.
Samsung is using a custom skin on top of Google’s stock Android called One UI. Not only does it change the overall look and feel of the devices, but it also introduces a bunch of features that Google’s stock iteration lacks. Android 10-based One UI recently arrived for the Galaxy S9 duo, and there have been rumors that One UI 2.1 – the ROM that the Galaxy S20 shipped with – would also be coming at some point.
Unfortunately, a recent report via the Samsung Members app in South Korea has put a stop to the rumor. According to the report, Samsung is not currently working on One UI 2.1 for its 2018 flagships, and a future release seems unlikely.
