Integration should therefore be a breeze, as the sensor is built to work well with standard 108MP smartphone cameras. In other words, this sensor will appear in flagship smartphones from a wide range of manufacturers.
The sensor also comes with Samsung’s proprietary pixel binning technology, Tetra2pixel, which allows it to simulate different pixel sizes to accommodate different light levels and use case scenarios. For example, the HP2 will simulate a 50MP sensor when recording 8K video to minimize cropping and capture more of the scene.
