Samsung on Tuesday unveiled its new Pro Plus and refreshed Evo Plus SD cards.

The announcement was made on Samsung's Newsroom blog, with the company claiming that the new memory cards are specifically designed for photographers and content creators.
The Pro Plus microSD and SD cards promise fast read and write speeds of up to 160 megabytes per second (MB/s) and 120 MB/s, respectively. Read and write speeds refer to how quickly an SD card transfers data, whether downloading or uploading files.
These cards allow users to capture high-quality 4K ultra-high definition or Full HD video at relatively high speeds. The new SD models also feature Samsung's "six-proof protection," which can withstand water, extreme temperatures, drops and even X-rays.
