Samsung has just announced a new high-end vacuum cleaner that it calls the “world’s first model” powered by artificial intelligence.

The Samsung Bespoke Jet AI cordless stick vacuum, as the name suggests, is packed with AI algorithms. This feature helps the vacuum cope with a wide range of environments by automatically detecting the type of floor it’s cleaning and adjusting its suction power, brush roll speed and battery efficiency accordingly. Samsung says the AI system has been fully certified by independent safety science organisation UL Solutions.

All told, the AI-enhanced cleaning mode reduces battery consumption by up to 21 percent and increases maneuverability by up to eight percent, depending on which brush you’re using. The vacuum also features SmartThings integration and Wi-Fi functionality, allowing users to customize the device through a proprietary app.

This is a vacuum cleaner from Samsung’s Bespoke line, so expect a high-end design with extras beyond AI. There’s a self-emptying dust bin that uses a powerful spinning blade to ensure nothing gets stuck in the grille, and a multi-layered filtration system that captures fine dust with 99.99 percent efficiency.
