Samsung has just announced a smart home hub that has a few surprises in store.
Charge your entire Samsung family wirelessly at once
The Samsung SmartThings Station is a robust offering in the smart home hub space, with an easy-to-use design that aims to combat the stereotype that these hubs are confusing. To that end, the majority of setup is done on your phone, with the option to onboard specific devices via a QR code.
Like most of these hubs, you can use them to set up elaborate routines that harness the capabilities of multiple devices at once. For example, set the speaker to play morning radio and the coffee maker to do its thing as soon as you wake up. These routines are programmed on your phone and should work with any Thread or Matter-adjacent smart home device.
This is a bit of a hybrid device though, as the SmartThings Station brings a few new features with it. It also doubles as a 15W wireless charging pad. Simply place your drained device on the pad and you’ll receive a notification on your phone when it’s fully charged.
