Caring for adults can be a full-time job. But if you can’t take care of them all the time, Samsung wants to help you with those responsibilities.
SmartThings Station: Introducing SmartThings Station | Samsung
In a press release sent to Lifewire, Samsung revealed the SmartThings Family Care feature, coming to SmartThings and Galaxy devices starting August 16. The Family Care feature lets you use your Galaxy devices with SmartThings to keep track of family members, help with daily activities, and even set reminders for medications and appointments.
According to the press release, Family Care can use SmartThings devices to monitor activity and then send notifications to the caregiver. The example Samsung used was letting a caregiver know when their loved one is first active with their Galaxy device during the day, or when there is no activity at all.
The Family Care service can also help you schedule things like medication reminders, doctor’s appointments, or even blood pressure or blood sugar test reminders. Caregivers can also use automations with SmartThings devices to help manage environmental factors and more.
