Diablo 4 Season 5 was a blast, with developers at Blizzard having to deal with numerous glitches and bugs that caused the game to crash over and over again.
Diablo 4 – CONFIRMED: Double Mythic Uniques, Trading Disabled, Massive Exploit, and More – S5 Patch!
The latest bug to emerge has caused chaos in the markets, with players suddenly being able to duplicate items like gems and equipment. This naturally led to trading exploits, a growing problem that Blizzard has been quick to try to stamp out by disabling the trading feature entirely while the devs investigate this latest issue.
Diablo 4's community manager director Adam Fletcher confirmed today that in-game trading has been disabled across all platforms due to the duplication bug. The team even went so far as to disable the ability to drop items for other Diablo players to pick up, PC GamesN reported, and they have yet to fully identify the issue.
This may not seem like a big deal to most players, but it does cause issues for players who trade summoning materials with their friends in Diablo 4 groups. It also means that the in-game economy has taken a hit, with valuable items that previously sold for large sums of money now selling for a fraction of that amount, as there was no farming or grinding required to obtain these duplicated items. Additionally, there is no Auction House to stabilize the economy, a missing feature that could finally fix this bug.
