Seth Meyers will host a new special, “Closer Look Primetime,” on NBC.

The special will air on September 11 at 10 p.m. ET/PT and will stream the following day on Peacock. The special will focus on the first presidential debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, which airs on September 10. Trump has previously debated President Joe Biden this election cycle, but this will be his first against Harris since Biden announced he will not seek re-election.
This isn’t the first time Meyers and his team have brought “Closer Look” to primetime. They previously aired a live primetime special in October 2020, ahead of that year’s U.S. presidential election.
“Closer Look” currently airs as a regular feature on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” The segment has received critical acclaim for its mix of news, analysis and humor. According to NBC, it has been viewed more than 3 billion times online since its inception. “Closer Look” was written by “Closer Look” lead writer Sal Gentile, “Late Night” lead writer Alex Baze and Meyers.
