Sharing a printer on a network – Windows 10/8/7

When you get a new laptop with Windows 7/8/10, it makes sense to share that printer so that any computer can print to it. Unfortunately, it is not that easy to print to a shared printer on XP from Windows 7/8/10!
In this article, I will walk you through the steps to share printers from XP to Windows 7/8/10. I am assuming that your printer is connected directly to a Windows XP machine and you want to print from a Windows 7/8/10 machine.
