This article explains how to share an internet connection in Windows using the Mobile Hotspot feature. Instructions apply to Windows 10, Windows 8, and Windows 7.

Share Internet from PC to PC via Ethernet/LAN cable

This procedure requires that your host computer is connected via a cable to the Internet modem (e.g. DSL or cable modem) or a cellular data modem on your computer. To share a wireless Internet connection with other devices, turn your Windows laptop into a Wi-Fi hotspot using Connectify.

To turn your computer into a wireless hotspot or wired router for other nearby devices:

Select Start > Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Hotspot.
