Sometimes it feels like you’re searching for hidden treasures when browsing local clothing stores, which is why Shilla Kim-Parker has launched an online platform to connect more customers with the gold.
How an entrepreneur delivers vintage clothing to your home
Kim Parker is the co-founder and CEO of Thrilling, an online marketplace for vintage and pre-loved boutiques across the US. The idea behind Thrilling came from Kim Parker’s experience growing up in New York and buying secondhand clothes.
“Part of the joy of this kind of shopping is getting lost in the treasure hunt. It’s all about the journey,” Kim-Parker said. “For Thrilling, we’re thinking about how we can popularize vintage shopping and make it accessible to more shoppers around the world.”
Founded in 2018 and owned by Black, Asian, and women, the company operates a platform of independent clothing businesses, 95% of which are stores owned by women and people of color.
