Since Tarisland debuted on June 21st, many players have been wondering how it stacks up against one of the MMORPG giants, World of Warcraft. Each title has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, but there’s a clear winner as to which one you should play for.
Is Tarisland worth playing or is it a cheap WoW copy?
Tarisland and WoW both offer a wealth of features and elements that are suitable for MMORPG enthusiasts. However, after experiencing the gameplay of both, it is clear that WoW still stands out with its expansive world and content, as well as rich lore and gameplay.
A monthly WoW subscription gets you access to the original content and the expansions Burning Crusade, The Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, Warlords of Draenor, Legion, Battle for Azeroth, and Shadowlands. When you think about it, that's a huge amount of content to get through. However, if you want to play the newest expansion, Dragonflight, you'll have to purchase it separately. Even without Dragonflight, you have countless hours of content to play, characters and races to choose from, vocations to level up, a PvP combat system, and a multitude of raids and dungeons to explore.
While the content can be appealing to many players, it can also be overwhelming, the quests can be boring and repetitive, and there is a noticeable imbalance in the roles. However, this is the case in most MMORPGs, as tanks and healers are less popular than the DPS role. Additionally, WoW is designed to cater to the needs of consistent and hardcore players. Blizzard has attempted to remedy this by making it more casual-friendly with reset bonuses, repeatable quests, and some more solo content. That said, it can still feel grindy at times.
