Was Windows 8 THAT bad?
Over the past few months, we've shared a number of tips and hints about Microsoft's upcoming operating system, Windows 8. However, we haven't yet provided any tips on whether we would recommend Windows 8 to our site visitors and subscribers.
The fact is that many people will be updating their operating systems to Windows 8 later this month and many will not. Windows 8 has been the primary focus of many tech blogs over the past few months and many critics have called Windows 8 a flop; following Microsoft’s pattern of inconsistency, first releasing a quality operating system and then releasing a bad one:
Now that the tech critics and many others are passing judgment on the new metro interface and other non-traditional features of Windows 8, many consumers may be a little cautious about making the switch to Windows 8. However, I believe the underlying factor of all of the criticism of the new operating system is simple… Windows 8 is different, so it comes across as an operating system that is complicated or difficult to understand. Additionally, using Windows 8 requires a slight learning curve and some change; most people dislike change and are creatures of habit.
