Shroud has stated that THE FINALS developers Embark Studios “don’t understand their player base” after the release of a new one-life ranked mode on June 14th left the game’s entire community in turmoil, and not in a good way.
Shroud is shocked at his rank in the finals
While many fans have praised Embark for trying new things in THE FINALS, the new Terminal Attack mode has fallen flat. This alternating battle of attack and defense challenges players with an impossible restriction where they can’t heal or revive, so they only have one life to win the match. It’s far from a unique concept in first-person shooters, but according to Shroud, it’s way off-target for THE FINALS and the gameplay itself.
When asked about the mode during his last stream in June, Shroud said that it's "not what you want to play THE FINALS for. You don't want to play THE FINALS for just one life." The star streamer then added that it's "a complete misunderstanding of their own game. Literally, that just shows they don't understand their own player base at all."
This response was followed by an even bigger blow from the human aimbot: Shroud admitted that he no longer wants to play THE FINALS and is disappointed with the changes the developers of the tactical shooter keep making.
