After some research, I discovered that this historic tennis match, called the Battle of the Sexes, refers to a tennis match that took place on September 20, 1973, in which female tennis champion Billie Jean King defeated male tennis champion Bobby Riggs in three straight sets. It was an iconic moment in history.
