Both Siri and Alexa are well-known and popular names in the smart digital assistant space, and for good reason. They’re great tools on their respective devices and can be a huge help in improving your smart home and your daily life. As such, you can’t really go wrong with either one (and you can even have both in your home), but they do take very different approaches when it comes to how they work.
Ultimate Smart Assistant Showdown 2024! Alexa vs Siri vs Google
Siri is all about Apple owners, meaning those without the relevant hardware will miss out. Alexa is a little more widespread, thanks to Amazon offering many of its smart products at a low price to encourage adoption, such as the Amazon Echo Dot. Ultimately, they both enrich lives, even if you catch yourself thinking, “Who’s better, Siri or Alexa?”
Both Siri and Alexa are great smart assistants. They both offer plenty of help throughout the day, whether it’s asking the system to turn on your lights, look up your next appointment, or just convert some measurements for you hands-free. If you can only have one smart assistant, it doesn’t matter which one you choose to some extent. They’re both rock-solid reliable, and if you can’t tell the difference, you’ll be happy with either one.
That said, Alexa is a little more practical than Siri. It can be unintuitive to use at times and is a little tricky with how you phrase things, but it’s generally much cheaper to get into, doesn’t require you to be part of the Apple ecosystem, and has more extensive music streaming support. Is Alexa better than Siri? It’s hard to say yes, but it’s certainly cheaper to invest in. Although Siri does have the benefit of better security and encryption.
