Sky Studios CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz has said there is “no scenario” in which its pay-TV customers will not be able to access content from Warner Bros. Discovery streamer Max when it launches in the UK.

Sky has been the sole home of HBO content in the UK for years, but it is widely expected that WBD will move the content to its own streamer when its current output deal expires in 2025. WBD has yet to set an official date for a UK launch, but senior executive JB Perrette said earlier this year that it would be “crazy” not to go direct to consumers in the UK.

Against this backdrop, there is much speculation about what the future of the partnership between Sky and WBD will look like. Both parties are making positive noises about an agreement, but are not clearly indicating what it might look like.
