The entire premise that Snapchat is built on is the disappearing of snaps and messages. While they kind of dropped the ball on the “messages” front, snaps are supposed to disappear, right? However, if Snapchat Stories aren’t disappearing for you, it might be a bug or something. Let’s take a look at how to fix it.
Stories not loading or disappearing on Snapchat!
Snapchat lets you upload “stories,” which are essentially snaps that anyone on your friends list can see. Much like Instagram stories (which came after its Snapchat counterpart), these stories remain visible on your account for 24 hours.
Snapchat also lets you customize the audience for your stories. With private stories, you can choose the users who can view your stories. On the other hand, public stories and stories from verified accounts can be visible to anyone in the world. These stories can appear as “Subscriptions,” below your friends’ stories on the “Story page.”
Well, once you view a Snapchat story, whether it’s from your friend or a subscription, it should disappear so you don’t accidentally view it again. While this isn’t as much of a problem for users who only have a few subscriptions, it definitely makes a difference if you’re subscribed to hundreds. You definitely don’t want to see the same story from the same user pop up over and over again.
